Somerset v South Africa 2008

On Friday 28th June Derek phoned me to tell me the bad news, his company had folded. He suggested that we go and watch Somerset v South Africa on Sunday in their warm up match. I was the designated driver as we were worried about public transport as the Glastonbury Music Festival was on the same weekend.

I didn't hold much hope for getting tickets on the gate since in England you have to book months in advance for most events, but we were lucky enough to get tickets from the ticket office.

Quite a big crowd, but very quiet

It was a great day out, especially since South Africa scored 450 runs in a day and broke a few records at Somerset along the way. I didn't even mind staying sober all day long, which is a new experience for me at a cricket match
